Immigration Evaluations
Immigration evaluations are comprehensive psychosocial assessments that document the emotional and psychological impact of life experiences relevant to immigration proceedings. These evaluations can provide important supporting documentation for immigration cases, including:

• Extreme Hardship Waivers
• Asylum applications
• U-Visa petitions for victims of qualifying crimes

My role is to conduct a thorough and objective clinical assessment and prepare a detailed written report that documents an individual’s personal history, experiences of adversity, and mental health concerns in the context of their immigration case. These reports are intended to provide immigration authorities and legal professionals with a clearer understanding of the psychological and psychosocial impact of the circumstances described.

As a trauma-informed clinician, Rocio Blas strives to create a warm, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals participating in the evaluation process. Immigration evaluations typically involve two appointments.
-
The first appointment includes a comprehensive clinical interview to gain a deeper understanding of your personal history and experiences.
-
The second appointment may involve additional interview questions and standardized questionnaires to further assess relevant emotional and psychological factors.
During this process, Rocio gathers information related to personal history, physical and mental health, and other relevant life circumstances. Additional documentation may also be reviewed when appropriate. Following the interviews, a detailed written report is prepared for use in immigration proceedings. The full evaluation process is typically completed within approximately three weeks.
Appointments are available via secure telehealth or in person at the office.
